Visible Fractions - Common Denominators
We cut up a sheet of paper to learn about fractions.
My son was a bit confused with the concept of equivalent fractions, so we used a sheet of paper and made the math visible.
After continuing through 1/16 and 1/32 we were able to write the top line shown in the photo above. Then we continued with more examples. The explanation was minimal, while the visible locations of the paper were key.
